The thesis presents a theoretical generalization and the results of an empirical study of scientific problem which consists in organizational, legal and psychological principles to improve the advocacy. As part of the thesis, the author developed regulatory and functional characteristics of the professional activity of a lawyer in modern Ukraine, including analysis of the current state of research and the historical background of the formation of ideas on the role of a lawyer/ human rights advocate in social and legal context. The status of legal regulation is studied and structural functional analysis of the advocacy is carried out.
