The object of study: the perception of time. Subject of study: the impact of mental states on the perception of time athletes at various stages of the competitive processMethods of study: For the purpose of solving the research tasks in the work used: theoretical methods (problem-logical method, induction, abstraction, generalization, classification, modeling), used to summarize the theoretical and methodological foundations and experimental research data; empirical methods ("cross-section", a longitudinal experimental method (method of playback duration); methods of mathematical data processing (methods of descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, Wilcoxon test, Friedman test); method of psychological diagnosis (method of investigation С.D. Spielberger anxiety in adapting Y.L. Hanin; computer version of projective techniques "Full Color Test" (M.Lyusher) technique for diagnosing performance and forms of aggression A.Bass - A.Darki adaptation G.V.Rezapkinoy.Scientific novelty of the results is that for the first time:have different dynamics and accuracy in the reproduction of the duration of a specified period of time in athletes at different stages of the competitive process;the absence of direct communication anxiety and hostility and autohronometrical functions on beforecompetitive stage;established a link between aggression and autohronometrical function on beforecompetitive stage;demonstrated direct and variable effects on situational anxiety autohronometrical function in the early stages of precompetitive and postcompetitive stage;demonstrated the presence of inter linkages between mental states only for a week and one day before the start;different set of communication - the relationship between mental states and between autohronometrical function and mental states at different stages of the competitive process, depending on the initial level of anxiety of athletes; shown that high levels of anxiety caused presence of interference autohronometrical function aggressiveness, situational and personal anxiety on beforecompetitive stage; hostility, situational and personal anxiety on the precompetitive stage; of aggressive behavior on later precompetitive stage; established mutual situational anxiety and aggressiveness on beforecompetitive stage; aggression and hostility in the early precompetitive stages and after competitive stages; situational anxiety and hostility in the precompetitive stage; situational and personal anxiety on precompetitive and late precompetitive stages;confirmed a statistically significant change in the levels of mental states at all stages of the competition;found that mental states (aggression, personal and situational anxiety) are not the only factors affecting the duration of fidelity;refined definition of "special status".The practical significance of the study is that the results of studying the peculiarities of time perception athletes in specific mental states corresponding to different stages of the competitive process can be used in lecture courses "General Psychology", "Psychology of Sport", "Differential Psychology" and the course "Psychology of Time", for students of psychological separation (Act number 23 on the implementation of 12. 03. 2014.), a psychologist in practice in dance centers of modern choreography (Act introduction of number 12 from 28. 01. 2014.).Scope institutions of higher education, psychological services.
