The thesis focuses on the analysis of the process of Ukrainian journalistic study formation, its conceptual and terminological system from its origin to the present time. The scientific work traces the way of the development of theoretical thought and scientific language of Ukrainian journalistic study, reveals the specificity of their formation at each stage of history, notes the contribution of Ukrainian scientists, including Diaspora scholars, to the becoming of journalistic study scientific concepts, proposes the model of Ukrainian journalistic study thought in the field of social communications.
