Bashly M. Provincial nobility and Kherson provinces of Bessarabia (1861-1907).

The dissertation comprehensively explores some aspects of the historical development of the nobility and Kherson province of Bessarabia during the second half of XIX – early XX century. Analyzed changes in the nobility of these provinces that have occurred over the first half of the nineteenth century. The characteristic of the legal status of nobility Southern provinces, clarified its size, ethnic composition. The place and role of the provincial nobility in the development of education and culture in the region are shown; the main directions of charity and patronage of aristocrats. Found determinants in the formation of political consciousness and Kherson Bessarabia nobility, gentry provinces studied involved in civic and political organizations in the region, to the State Duma elections.
