Essay

The thesis is a linguotranslational research of V. M. Thackeray’s idiostyle on the basis of comparative linguostylistic analysis of the “Vanity Fair” novel with its translation into Ukrainian (O. Seniuk) and into Russian (M. Dyakonov) as well as the translations of the 1998 and 2004 cognominal film versions into Ukrainian and Russian. Analysis of language difficulties comprising notions of translatability and non-translatability is performed. Particularities of cinema and literature languages are specified, principles of literary works cinematization are outlined, transformation principles of literary work becoming a film version are highlighted. Comparative analysis of linguostylistic means of V. M. Thackeray’s idiostyle expression in “Vanity Fair” was performed taking into consideration stylistic means differentiation into three levels: stylistic semasiology, stylistic lexicology, stylistic syntax including paradigmatic and syntagmatic sublevels.
