Essay

The research is devoted to the analysis of social issues in the national print editions (the print and on-line versions of the magazine "Ukrainskyi tyzhden"/"Ukrainian Week", the daily national newspapers "Den"/"Day", "Ukraina moloda"/"Young Ukraine", "Hazeta po-ukrainski"/"The newspaper in Ukrainian", the weekly "Dzerkalo tyzhnya"/"Mirror of the Week" for the period of 2010-2013. It examines the responses of communicators on it (fixed in the comments of social networks). It was found out the formal semantic specificity of journalistic reports on the problems of social practice. It is described the information and communication mechanisms to enhance the importance of social issues. It is detected the markers of audience's response to social issues in the context of realization by mass media of social functions. The ideal model of presentation of social issues in the media is formed and a degree of its implementation (effectiveness) for each analyzed edition is determined. The role of media as a social institution, the activity of which is directed at the social processes and their regulation is defined.
