Essay

Target of research – a pattern of formation of a complex of economically relevant indicators in the buckwheat selection process, peculiarities of its adaptability and resistance to changing environmental conditions, hybridization, rapid assessment of breeding for its resistance to drought, testing new variety samples. Goal of research – to create new breeding material on the basis of earliness and drought resistance, adapted to the south-western forest-steppe belt conditions using the collection of buckwheatworld gene pool. Methods - field; measurement and weight; weight; laboratory and chemical; mathematical and statistical. Results: The model of buckwheat variety adapted to the conditions of the south-western forest-steppe has been developed; preference according to major economically valuable indicators of the newly bred variety sample 7/07 has been established. The newly bred early ripening and drought resistant buckwheat numbers (07/06, 22/06, 23/06, 24/06, 25/06, 04/07, 07/05, 07/06, 15/07, 16/07 as compared to the standard, are characterized by higher yield and grain quality, better economic indicators and are used in breeding programs of the Research Institute of Cereals of the Podolsky State Agricultural and Technical University, were delivered to the National Centre for Plant Genetic Resources of Ukraine and are prepared for delivery to the State Committee for Testing of New Varieties of Ukraine. Novelty – it is the first time that variability of morphological parameters of buckwheat plants in the conditions o the south-western forest-steppe has been revealed, correlation relationships of basic elements of seed productivity have been established, namely the number of in florescenceson a plant with grain number and grain weightper plant and with the plan the ight. The genotype-environmental interactions and inheritance coefficients of plant height, a number of inflorescences, a number and weight of grainsper plant, weight of 1000 grains have been studied. Index value correlation of morphological parameters has been determined that characterizes earliness of the variety or forms of buckwheat. The features of rapid assessment of a drought resistance level of buckwheat using the method of seed germination in osmotic solutions have been identified. The economic efficiency of growing buckwheat variety sample7/07 has been defined. Sector – agriculture.
