Essay

The object of research: social and political life of Eastern Galicia of interwar period. The aim of research: to investigate reflection of struggle of stateless nations of the British Empire for national liberation and self-determination in Ukrainian social and political thought in Eastern Galicia of interwar period. The subject of research: ideas, opinions, perceptions and evaluations that were shown by Ukrainian socio-political environment in Eastern Galicia regarding tactics and methods of national liberation movements of colonial dependent nations of the British Empire and the level of awareness and understanding of national liberation movements between civilizationally different British possessions in 1919-1939. The methods of research: analyze, synthesis, logical, historical-genetic, historical-comparative, historical-typological. The results of research and novelty: proved that Ukrainian social and political circles of Eastern Galicia considered Irish national liberation movement as the most appropriate model to follow to resolve Ukrainian-Polish conflict in their favor. Interpretations of Indian liberation movement led by M. Gandhi among East Galician Ukrainian community are considered. The features of reception of anticolonial liberation movements in the East by East Galician Ukrainian intellectual environment 1919-1939 are considered. The sphere of usage: the further research of the current subject, writing of the synthesis works, manuals, reading of the high school courses on the history of Ukraine.
