In the dissertation for first time the attempt is done to light up, on the basis of analysis of original sources the main a pedagogical phenomenon of the Depolovych Lidiya - the author of numerous methodical manuals and manuals for teaching reading and writing, the author of the pre-war ABC-book for students that run in 19 editions. Pedagogical aspects of the heritage of outstanding Ukrainian teacher are defined.The author of the thesis proves that pedagogical theory of L. Depolovych basis on the methodological principles of realism, social and cultural determinism, nationality. In the research it is clarified the significance of the scientist's contribution to the methodology of teaching the ethnological imperative of Ukrainian pedagogist's ABC-book is defined.
