Essay

The object of research – the process of giving of hydrophobic properties to textile materials. The purpose of research – the increase of competitiveness of textile materials due to development of resource-saving technology of water-repellent finishing that will provide high quality of effect. Research methods – photometric method, method of optical microscopy, gravimetric method, Rehbinder's method for definition of a wetting angle, quantitative method of wetting of materials a liquid drop with the known superficial tension for determination of critical superficial energy of fiber, Harkins's method for definition of a superficial tension of solutions, the IR-spectroscopy method, methods determined by state standards of Ukraine on the corresponding textile production. The reasons of formation of the shoddy hydrophobic effect on the fabrics printed by pigments were determined. The resource-keeping technology of high-quality water-repellent finish of the camouflage fabrics printed on pigmental technology was developed. The types of additives the use of which provides the intensification of hydrophobization process and increases the stability of the system "polymer of water-repellent - polymer of binder - polymer of fiber" were determined. The mechanism of action of additive of bifunctional adhesion silicon containing promoter were proposed. Area of the use - textile industry.
