Essay

The thesis presented theoretical generalization and new approach to an important and urgent task, which is manifested in determining and disclosing the content and direction of educational and outreach Alexander Rusov in the context of educational movement and educational thought in Ukraine in the second half of XIX - early XX century. Based on comprehensive thorough studying of a significant amount of sources, various documents, materials, the epistolary heritage of A. Rusov, critical analysis of the historiography of the problem defined the topic and source level of the support; found that the pedagogical and educational activities of A. Rusov and now remains less explored. It is found out and analyzed the main factors that contributed to the formation of personality of A.Rusov and his educational views,the basic periods of educational and pedagogical activity of the scientist, his general pedagogical views. The analysis of cultural activities of A. Rusov clarified its main areas: ethnographic and cultural, scientific, statistical, publicist, journalist, publishing. Little-known archival documents have been introduced, allowing us to deepen the study of pedagogical ideas of A. Rusov and todescribe its impact on educational processes of the late XIX - early XX century.
