Essay

In the thesis the systematic analysis of using the history of the Zmiinyi Island space in the context of the overall system development of the North-western Black Sea was made for a first time. The periodization of the island history development, changes his perception, basic mental imagery were made and showed for the first time. Research course of the Island and a paradigm, shift priorities in directions problems and methods of researches were reproduced. Vision of tactical and strategic importance of the island for military operations late in XVIII – early XX century was profounded.
