In the dissertation the problems of guardianship and education of children-orphan are completely analyzed in the activity of charitable societies of Poland during 19th - beginning of 20th century; the preconditions of their origin, the public-pedagogical initiatives in the field of guardianship above orphans are clarified; the stages of development of theory and practice of guardianship and education are certain in activity of charitable societies in Poland and the tendencies are described; content of education, basic directions of activity of societies, pedagogical tool of education of children-orphans, is exposed; the institutional forms of guardian-educator activity are reasonable.
