Essay

This research focuses on the Libraries network formation process in Podillya in the second half of XIX - early XX century. It has been ascertained that it embraced libraries of Polish aristocrats' estates, institutions of Orthodox diocese department (educational, religious, district, diocesan and museum ones), Ministry of Public Education (school, technical school, gymnasium, public and people's ones), public organizations ("Hramotnist" society, "Prosvita" society etc.), special (teachers libraries, those at plants, institutions and organizations, etc), private ones, as well as the main library of Kamyanets-Podilskyi state Ukrainian university. Legal basis of their activities has been analysed.
