The thesis presented theoretical generalization and new approach to important and urgent task, which results in a theoretical study of social characteristics of children deprived of parental care in the United States. Author determined eight stages of development, social care and placement of children deprived of parental care in the United States. The characteristic of the main forms of placement of children without parental care in American society and certainly most of them are used in the practice of social and educational work in the twentieth century. Highlight principles, content and methods of social education in various forms of arrangement of children deprived of parental care in the United States. Specifiс key concept studies such as "children deprived of parental care", "social education of children without parental care" and "shape arrangement of children deprived of parental care". The comparative analysis of the forms of placement of children without parental care, and implementation details in the social upbringing of children in the United States and Ukraine in the second decade of the twenty-first century. The recommendations for consideration of the positive experience of the American social education of children without parental care, and its use in domestic practice (legislative, theoretical, pedagogical, organizational, methodological, organizational, administrative and practical levels).
