Dissertation is devoted to the research of monument preservation activity in Ukraine in 1944-1991 basing on the materials of Volyn and Rivne regions. It analyses the conditions and content of monument preservation activity carried out by organs of state authority and public organizations. The dissertation views achievements and shortcomings of monument preservation activity, practical recommendations to improve the efficiency of modern cultural heritage protection in Ukraine are given.
