Poruchynska I. Northwest Economic Region demographic situation

The thesis is devoted to the problem of the present demographic situation in the North-Western economic region. The influence of historical and geographic, natural geographic, environmental and socio-economic factors on the formation of the modern settlement system and natural and mechanical movement features of the population in the region have been analyzed. The population gender and age, and marital structures characteristics have been determined. The natural and mechanical population movement has been analyzed and their intraregional features have been established. A demographic zoning of the northwestern district has been conducted. The list of problems causing negative trends of demographic processes development has been determined and ways of solution have been proposed.
