Theoretical foundations and basic aspects of modernization of choreographic education in the Republic of Poland are revealed in the thesis; the prospects of the use of positive Polish experience in the aspect of the research problem in Ukraine are defined. The conceptual and terminological apparatus of the study is described. A large number of terms such as "modernization", "choreography", "dance education" are introduced. Essential characteristics of modernization of choreographic education in the Republic of Poland are identified. The author defines directions of modernization of choreographic education, namely: updating the content and structure of choreographic education; elimination of disproportion and duplication in training; upgrading of regulatory legal support; optimization of the list of specialties for which there is professional training; certification of educational institutions and specific higher dance education programs. Sources and personalities who have played a significant role in this process are defined. The development of choreographic research field in Poland (creation of the scientific-research Institute of music and dance, conducting of the First Congress of the dance, the arrangement of the First International choreographic conference) is covered. The basic aspects of modernization of choreographic education in the Republic of Poland (regulatory-legal, structural and content) are described. The models of choreography training in Republic of Poland are presented (classic, theatric, horeotherapeutic, rhythmic) and the curricula, according to which the choreographic education in Poland is implemented, are analyzed. In the framework of the regulatory-legal aspect it is noted that the structure of the choreographic education, which consists of out-of-school, preschool, secondary special and higher educational institutions and post-graduate studiums regulates the Law "On education system". The structural aspect of CE modernization is highlighted. It provides for the reorganization of old and creation of new cells of choreographic education (child development centers, school of art dance, dance schools, recreation centers, dance studios and centers, clubs and modern dance ensembles, dance clubs, dance courses, the cells of dance, ballet secondary schools, studiums, higher schools, Academies, UMFC), who have the right to decide substantive and organizational issues, develop and implement into the educational process author's programs, etc. It is defined that the content of professional CE in higher education is being modernized in accordance with the needs of society and the labour market requirements. Updating of curriculum is carried out in accordance with the innovative directions of training (specialties). The most active is the modernization of the educational programs through the introduction of new disciplines, which have intercultural, modern and therapeutic components. The European context of the development of choreographic education is indicated and the status of dance education in Ukrainian schools is investigated. The potential of Polish experience in the development of choreographic education in Ukraine at the European, national and institutional levels is defined.
