The object is a professional and pedagogical preparation of future teachers-philologists in the educational process of higher educational institutions. The aim is to scientifically substantiate and test the pedagogical conditions of preparation of future teachers-philologists to the formation of social and cultural competence of pupils of the senior classes of gymnasium. Methods are theoretical, empirical, statistical. Novelty - pedagogical conditions of preparation of future teachers-philologists to the formation of social and cultural competence of pupils of the senior classes of gymnasium have been first defined and theoretically grounded. The model of preparation of future teachers-philologists to the formation of social and cultural competence of pupils of the senior classes of gymnasium has been developed. Methods of forming socio-cultural competence of students have been further developed. Results - the experimental methods of preparation of future teachers-philologists to the formation of social and cultural competence of senior pupils of gymnasium; a system of exercises and tasks to build the social and cultural competence of future teachers-philologists and their preparation for the implementation of social and cultural educational activities with senior pupils of gymnasium have been developed.
