Ladynenko A. Linguistic, interpretive and functional features of foreignisms in the artistic texts

The thesis is devoted to a comprehensive quantitative and qualitative analysis of foreign elements incorporated in the texts written in other verbal code systems. The research covers the material of the languages belonging to different genealogical groups (Slavic, Roman, Germanic). Lexical, semantic, structural and graphical peculiarities of the foreign inclusions were analyzed, mechanisms of their reception being described in detail. The criteria for foreignisms and lexical borrowings differentiation were worked out for the purpose of efficient selection of the units to be investigated. Different functions of the foreign inclusions (compositional, architectonic and characterological) were also in the center of attention. Divergent and convergent acts of communication were singled out on the basis of frame analysis of communicative situations with foreign inclusions, the role of the latter in the dialogue constructions of the artistic texts being thoroughly investigated. Interpretation techniques of foreign inclusions in fiction texts were systematized and described, the reader’s abduction processes being of special consideration in the paper under analysis. The investigation showed that system of foreign inclusions has a great irradiation effect endowing the artistic text with different connotations and expressive overtones.
