Kostyuk Y. Regional Radiobroadcast in Ukraine: Formation, Development, Perspectives.

The dissertation is devoted to researching of formation, development and perspectives of regional radio broadcast in Ukraine. The author investigates terms "region", "broadcasting", "regional radio broadcast". There have been systematized definitions, which are actual in scientific-theoretical literature. The author covers up the process of appearing, formation and development of regional radio broadcast in our country; researches functioning of regional radio under political pressure in the days of Soviet Union and in the period of Ukraine's independence; characterizes factors, which assist development of broadcasting and its subsequent activities. Specifying interrelations between national broadcast and regional, the author analyses different conditions (economic, political, social) that preceded the origin of broadcasting in Ukraine's regions, their role in the process of producing of images of regions, features of cooperation with the network stations and, actually, audience. The regional broadcast is on its uncertain way, when some radio stations still cannot get rid of wire broadcasting mode, and others have already gone to convergence in mass media, representing their media resources in World Wide Web. The author offers own recommendations for the radio journalists of the regional stations, talks about factors that will be helpful in the effective management of media, specifies on moments, which need to be taken into account while developing of radio station format, in a process of adjusting a contact with listeners.
