Essay

The thesis dedicated to the epizootological monitoring of leptospirosis which is spread between agricultural (cattle, small ruminants, pigs, horses) and wild animals, small pets, zoo animals, rodents. The etiological structure of leptospirosis in animals has been studied for the period of 2002-2011. The antibodies to the exotic serogroups of Leptospira interrogans - serovar Louisiana (serogroup Louisiana) were found in a blood serum of agricultural animals. The epidemic situation and etiological structure of human leptospirosis were studied. Methods and means for deratization were analyzed and their role was detected in the complex of measures against leptospirosis. The influence of vaccination of agricultural animals against leptospirosis on epizootic situation in a region was researched. The direct correlation between the increased temperature of the environment and the number of seropositive cattle and pigs was proved; the relationship between size of still water in the area and the presence of seropositive cattle was not found. A modern disinfectant preparation for disinfection of premises, decontamination equipment and facility for the prevention of leptospirosis was proposed.
