Essay

Object: wheat-rye translocations 1BL/1RS and 1AL/1RS, collection and breeding samples of different genetic origin, hybrids F1-F8. Aim: establishment of theoretical basis of breeding of bread winter wheat with wheat-rye translocations 1BL/1RS and 1AL/1RS. Methods: crossbreed analysis, biochemistry and molecular-genetic analysis, statistical analysis. Novelty: On the collection samples of different genetic origin and recombinant lines derived from crossing local varieties the effects of 1AL/1RS, 1BL/1RS wheat-rye translocations on the main adaptive properties, baking quality indices and grain yield were investigated. Results: it was established that the positive effect of 1AL/1RS, 1BL/1RS translocations on winter hardiness, drought tolerance and productivity of investigating genetic material determined by cumulative interaction of genes localized in translocations with other genes in concrete genetic background. It was shown the possibility of increasing the efficiency of genotypes selection with 1AL/1RS translocation from the hybrids F2 by using of DNA markers. It was established that the presence in genotype of 1ВL/1RS translocation increases haploprodution ability of microspores in culture in vitro in contrast to the 1AL/1RS translocation. Application stage: Four new varieties were submitted into the national test trial; 31 original lines with wheat-rye translocations were developed by the candidate for a degree in co-authorship with other researchers.Application area: SIE of NAAS of Ukraine, farms.
