The dissertation deals with the development of protective coatings based on polymethylphenylsiloxanes filled with oxide components that are used to prolong the service life of ceramic facing bricks, and the trade analysis of the resulting materials' performance. Composition of the resulting compounds for protective coatings and methods applied to produce them, as well as provisions for effective protection of facing bricks fulfilled by applying weather-resistant, adhesion-strong protective layer over its surface, are determined and supported with evidence. The effect of the coating composition on water absorption, water resistance, cold resistance and durability of protected materials is defined. Lifetime of the developed protective coatings' compositions is assessed by means of accelerated aging test. Protective layers' performance under the effects of humidity and freeze-thaw temperatures is studied. Developed coatings' compositions undergo a complex trade analysis to assess their quality, which allows to prove their higher protective values in comparison with a reference sample. Technical documentation that regulates the manufacturing methods and tentative specifications for the test batch have been developed. Feasibility and economic efficiency of their application are justified using the results of industrial testing.
