Essay

It has been compared the character of gene toxic action of nickel chloride with the corresponding effects of biologically active compounds of different origin in somatic mammalian cells in vitro and some peculiarities of NiCl2 water-soluble salt have been discovered. These data permitted us to make an assumption concerning the reasons for ambiguity of existing literature data concerning soluble nickel compounds mutagenic properties in eukaryotes. For the first time the influence of S.nigra lectins with and without nickel ions on cell DNA integrality has been studied.
