The object is thinking processes of the phenomenon of social novation. The purpose is socio-philosophical analysis of the phenomenon and essential characteristics of social novation, the determinants of optimization and development in the Ukrainian society. Theoretical results and novelty - the integrative definition of "novation" and "innovation" was suggested, the concept of "novation" as a characteristic of the subject of activity was explicated.The determinants of optimization of social innovations in Ukraine was identified.
