Essay

Quantitative norms of length of walls of the right and left orbits, orbital breadth and height, orbital depths, angle of orbital entrance inclination and an angle between medial and lateral walls are defined with use of a computed tomography at adults (male and female) of the first and second period of a maturity as well as at advanced age. Lack of asymmetry of left and right orbits is established that gives an opportunity to use average indicators as a morphometric standard. Reliable lack of sexual dimorphism in morphometric indicators of orbits is noted. Existence of reliable differences in the depth of orbits and length of the orbital floor in age group of the second period of a maturity is established. Significant differences of certain morphometric indicators of orbits at people with various types of cranium by a cranial index are determined. Variability of correlation between morphometric indicators of orbits in the general population and in populations by sex, age and types of cranium is established.
