Essay

The object of the study: psychological well-being. The purpose of the work: Determination of the gender role factors providing the psychological well-being of an individual. Methods: theoretical (analysis of the scientific sources relating to the research), empirical (testing, semi-structured interview, the method of expert estimations) and mathematics and statistics method. Scientific novelty: gender characteristics of the psychological well-being are identified; the work demonstrates that the levels of psychological well-being are linked to gender identity; the research has found that gender-role characteristics are very important for psychological well-being of an individual; the raise of psychological well-being levels causes the increase in mature gender-role models, and low levels of psychological well-being are characterized by immature (continuous-alternative, continuous-adjunctive) gender role arrangement models; it was found that for different levels of psychological well-being psycho-semantics gender roles have their own specific peculiarities, the low level of psychological well-being displayed the phenomena of ego dystonia in gender functioning, emotional «emptiness» Ego, gender-role emptiness; psycho-semantic field expands in relevance to the increase of psychological well-being level; we observe the phenomenon of ego syntonic gender roles, emotional rebirth of «Me» and the emotional activation of gender roles; we also demonstrate that, typical level settings are traced both for men and women according to the level of the psychological well-being. Practical importance: we suggest a program of psychological correction of the gender-role facets involved in providing psychological well-being of an individual. The effect of the introduction is high. The areas of use: higher education institutions, psychological services, personnel services.
