Baydak L. Formation and activity of the Dnepropetrovsk hydrobiological school: a study of man-caused transformed freshwater ecosystems (30-90s of XX century)

The object of study - the evolution of hydrobiological science in Ukraine in the period of 30-90 years of the twentieth century. The purpose of the study: historical reconstruction of the processes of formation and further development of Dnipropetrovsk hydrobiological school specializing in the study of anthropogenic-transformed freshwater ecosystems, against the backdrop of political, economic and social features of 30-90 years of the twentieth century Research methods are based on the principles of scientism, historicism and objectivity. General methodological approaches are implemented with the use of specific research methods: internal criticism for source study analysis of documents; periodization - to highlight the stages of the development team in Dnepropetrovsk hydrobiologists; comparative and system analysis-for determine the place and role of the scientific contribution of the scientists of Dnipropetrovsk in the development of hydro-biological science. Biographical the method has allowed to generate the most comprehensive scientific biography of prominent representatives of the staff of the Dnipropetrovsk hydrobiologists. Using the principles of historicism, consistency, objectivity allowed to follow specific historical approaches in the analysis of the process of formation of the Dnipropetrovsk hydrobiological school. Theoretical and practical results of scientific and historical industry are consist in summarize actual and specific material of the thesis can be applied in research studios on the history of science and technology, in the preparation of lecture courses and books, to write monographs, reference books, scientific articles and biographies of scientists, and also were used during creating a documentary about the life and work of academician-garola p. P. Shirshov and teaching materials "Outstanding figures of the Dnipropetrovsk hydrobiological school". Scientific novelty - for the first time implemented a historical reconstruction of the processes of formation and further development of Dnipropetrovsk hydrobiological school for the period from the 30's to the 90-ies of XX century, which initiated the research of anthropogenic-transformed freshwater ecosystems; proposed periodization school activities; relying on primarily archival sources, uncovered basic directions of scientific activity of the staff of the Dnipropetrovsk hydrobiologists; defines the role of ideas put forward by the scientific school for the development of several areas of hydro-biological science: Hydrobiology of the reservoirs, the space of Hydrobiology, technical Hydrobiology, freshwater radioecology, aquatic toxicology, industrial fisheries, and the enrichment of forage fish; for the first time proved the importance of the work of Professor D. A. Swenka for the Foundation of scientific studies on Hydrobiology of the reservoirs. Degree of implementation: training courses "Introduction to specialty", "Hydrobiology" and "Hydroecology".
