Truba R. Community Education and Research Work of Omelyan Terletsky (1873-1958)

Object: figure of Omelyan Terletsky as a subject of socio-cultural, educational and scientific space of Galicia in late XIX – early XX century. Objective: to explore complexly social, educational and scientific activities of Omelyan Terletsky in the context of socio-political processes in late XIX – early XX century. Methods: historical-genetic, comparative-historical, problem-chronological, biographical, historiographical analysis, and also analogy, deduction and induction, synthesis and analysis. Results: for the first time based on complex of newly sources reconstructed Omelyan Terletsky way of life, found the circumstances of his education in Yaroslav and Stryi gymnasium and Lviv University, found seats and concrete results of educational work, shows the cultural and educational work in German camps of the Ukrainian prisoners of war during World War I, found, systematized and analyzed many (over 70 positions) papers and notes in Camp press, concluded bibliographical list of his works, found and decrypted his aliases and cryptonyms, describes the features of the scientific and journalistic work and social activities during the Nazi occupation. Scope: for preparing of new monographs on Ukrainian historiography of the late XIX – mid of XX century, training manuals, teaching-methodological publications and special courses on the history of Ukraine.
