The thesis is devoted to the Russian garrison, which had stationed in Kyiv since 1654. The level of development of topic in historiography and source base have analyzed. The role of the Russian garrison in the incorporation of Ukrainian lands to the part of Russian state assigned by the Russian government has displayed. The control system, structure of the garrison and its specific have reconstructed basing on the involvement of a wide range of sources. The dynamics of garrison numerical force had discovered, as well as the factors affecting it.
