Shadrina O. Pulmonary sarcoidosis incidence in Southern and Northern regions of Ukraine, clinical forms and stages, the results of treatment

Study object:pulmonary sarcoidosis patients; aim - to study incidence and prevalence of pulmonary sarcoidosis in Southern and Northern regions of Ukraine, to perform retrospective analysis of rate, character and major reasons of treatment failures for the 5-year period; methods: epidemiological, statistical, retrospective analysis of clinical, radiological and functional data, complete clinical and laboratory examination; novelty: statistical proofs of geographical factor influence on sarcoidosis epidemiology (increase of the incidence in direction from South to North) were obtained for the first time. Based on detection of sarcoidosis cases in Autonomic Republic of Crimea and Zhytomyr oblast the indices of incidence and prevalence of the disease were evaluated first time. First time in Ukraine a retrospective distribution of cases depending on age, sex, stages, outcomes of treatment, including treatment failures was studied. Recommendations for improvement of results of treatment of stage III pulmonary sarcoidosis patients were developed. Field of application - medicine.
