Essay

The object of research is the cycling infrastructure. The aim of the study is to determine the principles of urban planning organization of cycling infrastructure in medium and large cities. Methods of investigation are based on the historical method; comparative analysis; description, generalization, finding analogies; study of international experience, his analysis and synthesis; systems analysis; classification; generalization of results, identification of patterns; checking experimental design previously accepted hypothesis. In the dissertation for the first time comprehensively address issues of including cycling infrastructure in street and road network of settlements, namely: improved the classification of cycling infrastructure elements; established the basic principles of architectural and planning solutions in the design of cycling infrastructure and defines the means of implementing these principles; defined basic techniques cycling organizations, their advantages and disadvantages and factors to consider when choosing a reception; developed method of placing cycling infrastructure in the settlements. The results of theoretical studies make it possible to calculate the required cycle network density, thickness of pavement layers, dynamic dimension of bicycle and minimum length of vertical curves on bicycle paths. Completed studies allow to propose amendments to DBN B.2.3-5-2001 "Streets and roads settlements" by typical cross-sections of streets settlements with regard tye bicycle paths. Are prepared the proposals for the development of cycling infrastructure in Poltava. Some research results were used in developing the master plan and transport infrastructure of company "Vinnytsya Oil and Fat Plant"; in designing of local airport entrances to the complex of buildings in Turkmenabad, Turkmenistan; in the renovation of buildings and structures in plant community services in the city Alexandria, Kirovohrad region and in the provision of reconstruction proposals for bus station in Kirovograd. The results of the research proposed: to improve in the theoretical and methodological foundations of applied scientific research in the field of urban development and spatial planning; the justification of master plans of settlements and territories; for further development and improvement of design theory cycling infrastructure; in the design construction and reconstruction of street and road network of settlements; in the educational process in the preparation of specialists in "Architecture and Urban Planning" and "Building and Civil Engineering".
