Essay

The dissertation presents the theoretical generalization and new resolve of essential problem - the development of the optimum methods of maintaining treatment of patients with mental and behavioral disorders due to use of alcohol by the complex analysis of dynamics of clinical and psychopathological characteristics, indicators of social functioning and quality of life during therapy with different anticraving pharmacotherapeutic agents. Fivefold dynamical investigation of 120 men, which received pharmacotherapy in a combination to psychosocial support is carried out. The expediency of use of criteria of an estimation of efficiency of treatment (alternative to full abstention) has been proved for the first time. It has been made by complex clinical and psychopathological research, with taking into account of indicators of social functioning and quality of life during therapy with anticraving pharmacotherapeutic agents. Qualitative difference of dynamics of consumption of alcohol under the influence of different anticonvulsants was shown. Decrease in level of severity of alcohol dependence and the accelerated reduction of adverse consequences of alcohol use was proved. The method of treatment of alcoholic dependence with anticonvulsant pharmacotherapy in combination with technology of psychosocial support is developed and introduced. This method provides increase of efficiency of therapy at the expense of: decrease of alcohol intake and its adverse consequences, reduction of expressiveness of alcohol dependence, growth of the basic indicators of the quality of life and stable decrease of needs in resources of public health.
