It has been found that particular genetic polymorphism for animals of the Tavrian intra-breed type of the Southern beef cattle breed in relation to DNA microsatellite loci (recommended by ISAG) are caused by the processes of integration of zebu gene pools and the "parent" breeds. Alleles, the most suitable for taurus/indicus-differentiation, have been identified. Animals of different origin (in the proportion of Zebu- heredity) differ considerably in terms of frequency of alleles for most microsatellite loci and have formed two separate gene pools. Obviously, this is due to the use of different starting breeds of cattle and Zebu in creating the Tavrian intra-breed type of the Southern beef cattle breed.
