The thesis researches the history of Old-believer's communities in Zhytomyr region during 1945-1991 years, process of structuring and transformation in terms of Soviet reality. The thesis is based on a wide range of sources and literature revealed internal situation of Old-believer's communities of the region: abundance dynamics of communities, their socio-demographic changes, provision of clergy stuff, availability of cult buildings in believers. Much attention is devoted to the peculiarities of ethno-confessional identity of the Old-believers. The research outlines the specifics of religion policy, defines the main directions of its proceedings by Soviet authorities.
