The dissertation considers theoretical generalization and practical use of principles of selection material evaluation, research of the selection value of economic features of modern garden bean gene bank for vegetable use in the conditions of northern forest steppe of Ukraine. The sources of economic and valuable features are studied and educed in order to use them in a selection process and the issue of inheritance and variability of valuable economic feature in F1 hybrids is tackled. The complex study of the principles of the demonstration and variability of valuable economic features is done and their interconnection is specified. The polymorphism of economical and valuable features is studied and on the basis of the research new sources of valuable economical features are found which are of great interest for selection practice. By means of correlation method the features of efficient selection of garden bean for vegetable use are found. The model of garden bean variety for vegetable use is developed and recommended for the use in the conditions of northern forest steppe of Ukraine. The variety samples are evaluated according to the scale of the species efficiency.
