Demartyno A. The rebel movement in the Middle Dnieper Ukraine (1918-mid-1920s)

The thesis is devoted to complex research of insurgency in the Middle Dnieper Ukraine in 1918-mid 1920s in the context of socio-economical, socio-political and ideological transformations of Ukrainian society during the armed aggression of Bolshevik Russia. The state of the main sectors of the economy and their relationship with the transformation of the ethno-social structure of the population of the Middle Dnieper in their functional and spatial dimensions have been analyzed. The analysis of the socio-political aspect of insurgency in the region has been realized. The relationship between the creation of a system of terror of the Soviet occupation authorities and the strengthening of dissent among the Ukrainian population exposed forms, methods and means of ideological and political processing have been investigated. The evolution of the insurgency ideology has been observed. The driving forces of the rebels, the features of the rebel movement guide have been found. The tactics of peasants' struggle was analyzed. The process of armed resistance to Soviet power in 1918 - mid-1920s was highlighted. Recommendations on the use of the research results have been formulated.
