Suvorova S. Structural and semantic features of titles of scientific papers

The object - the titles of scientific articles, reports, theses and conference and other scientific works. The aim of the thesis lies in the comprehensive description of structural and semantic peculiarities of the titles of scientific and popular scientific works. Methods - the nature of the object, purpose, objectives, and overall direction of the proposed research determined the proper methods of linguistic analysis, such as descriptive with all of his techniques. With this method, are investigated the structural-semantic organization of headings. Also uses methods of quantitative analysis (comparison of different types of headers), linguistic experiment (in the analysis of communicative successful and less precise builds headers). The main methodological principle of the study is the teaching of Russian and foreign linguists on the levels of language structure, the position of the unity of form and content of a linguistic sign, according to which the text should describe succinctly: on the one hand, any information must be placed on a descriptive level; on the other hand, these levels need to build continuously in series so that, in the words of E. Benveniste, the units of each level receives its meaning only through reference to the units of the next higher level.
