This dissertation focuses on the elucidation of multidimensionality of the functioning modes of the concept Other in contemporary philosophical reflection. It has been defined that the concept Other indicates different forms and aspects of distinctions between people. On the basis of the analysis of social, political, ethical, cultural-anthropological, gender dimensions of Other social, political and cultural needs making up an impressive factor of identity formation and the basis of gaining recognition have been revealed.
