Essay

This research reveals the preconditions of formation and development of the school education of women in the Kharkiv region in the second half of the ХІХ century. Identified and justified the stages of formation and development of the school education of women in the Kharkiv region (second half of XIX - beginning of XX century). Clarified the main trends, forms and methods of educational work in women's gymnasiums of various types of the studied period, especially the practical upper secondary women's education at the eighth pedagogical grade. Outlined directions of use experience of organization of education of women in the Kharkiv region (second half of XIX - beginning of XX century) in the modern educational institutions of Ukraine.
