The purpose of the study is to develop the scientific basis and principles of architectural design of public urban spaces with a disturbed areas. The subject of the study - architectural design of public urban spaces with a disturbed areas. Methods of investigation are based on the systematic study of architectural and landscape, historical and environmental features of the formation of urban open space in an urban environment disturbed Donbass. The paper used the following methods: a hypothetical: hypotheses in a preliminary study of the problem and find its solution; analysis: studying literature, normative materials on organization of urban space; analysis of cartographic material and satellite imagery; generalization and systematization of the world experience of theoretical and practical developments in the field of reclamation and use of disturbed areas; method of statistical analysis of quantitative and qualitative structure of public urban spaces and their functional analysis in the planning structure of the city of Donbass; field surveys: photographic images of the urban landscape, and disturbed areas, their measurement and systematization; modeling: definition of the stages of modeling, development of models of the spatial organization of the boundaries of public urban spaces with disturbed areas at the level of "skeleton", "fabric" and compositional means of forming the boundaries of urban open space with disturbed areas at the level of "component", the search for conceptual models of architectural design public urban spaces with disturbed areas. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the fact that the first time identified and systematically violated laws of formation of the regional urban environment by landscape factors; determined and theoretically substantiated the principles of architectural design of public urban spaces with a disturbed areas; developed a typology of public urban spaces with disturbed areas on the results of the study and determination of their spatial and composite structures; improved methods of architectural design of public urban spaces with a disturbed areas; developed further substantiation of methods of architectural design of public urban spaces with a disturbed areas and means of their implementation. Results of the study are introduced in the design work, as well as in the educational process of preparation of architects.
