Bondazhevska L. The problem of explication of the concept "fallacy" in informal studies of argumentation

This dissertation is devoted to the problem of definition of fallacies in argumentation. It is highlights the main features and trends in the interpretation of the concept of "fallacy" in informal argumentative studies, especially in formal dialectic, pragma-dialectics and informal logic. In the dissertation proposed their comparative analysis in order to identify evaluation criteria fallacy as arguments. For a comprehensive review of that subject, proposed to consider the doctrine of sophisms and paralogism of Aristotle as the basis for modern argumentative research. For a long time it was the distribution of fallacies on linguistic and extralinguistic according to types of paralogisms. Fallacy in argumentation traditionaly was interpreted as invalid argument, but such definition is not enough for contemporary studies. The basic concepts of the theory of argumentation needs to be revised in order to establish effective and universal definitions of fallacy.
