Essay

The thesis is dedicated to the components of the interconnection between logic and rhetoric in the history of philosophical thought and at the current stage of development of these sciences. The relevance of the problem is due to a number of factors: firstly, the orientation of logic and rhetoric on various communicative practices in history and modernity, secondly, the formation of argumentation theory, in which logic and rhetoric closely cooperate, and thirdly, the growth of interest to logic and rhetoric as educational disciplines in the higher education system. These factors call for systematic research of the interconnection between logic and rhetoric as important humanities. The current state of development shows that logic as science is considered as the complex of formal and informal logic, which establishes, respectively, the criteria of correct and good reasoning, and rhetoric considered as the logical cycle science that establishes the criteria for the persuasiveness of oratorical speeches. These interpretations of logic and rhetoric that are made not so much by their subject matter but by their purpose is taken as the basis for the research of the components of the interconnection between logic and rhetoric.
