Essay

It is proved that linguistic and communicative practices forming critical thinking, existing in modern US universities, are based on three main groups assumptions: conceptual (long tradition of critical thinking in the world of philosophy), speech (especially the development of critical thinking through English language) and didactic (elaborated in US universities special teaching methods and educational practices of critical thinking). Thesis is determined the typical characteristics of a training course on critical thinking in modern universities in the US, priority review means and rules of reasoning as the main goal of critical thinking; definition of critical thinking technology, independence of the educational material content.
