Khudaiberdyieva O. Influence of pre-Islamic beliefs in the spiritual formation of the culture and life of the Crimean Tatars and Nogai.

Dissertation covers the influence of the Pre-Islamic beliefs on the formation of spiritual culture and mode of life of the Crimean Tatars and Nogai. On purpose to hit the target, we used different published written sources, archaeological evidence and materials of field ethnographic researches. Special linguistic and cartographic materials were also used. In consequence of the analysis of a broad base of sources it was carried out a comprehensive study of religious-ideological system of the Crimean Tatars and Nogai, determined the extent their embeddedness of the Islamic religion. Determined the degree of scientific development of the issue, identified the main stages of development of historiography concerning the religion of the ethnic and religious communities. In the study based on the analysis of written sources it is for the first time highlighted two eating patterns of the Crimean Tatars and Nogai, which greatly differ from each other. The analysis of these eating systems and their comparison with Islamic sources showed that nomadic Nogai less than sedentary agricultural Crimean Tatars held Islamic dietary restrictions.
