Essay

The thesis analyzes the necessity and the process of formation of dialogism in Ukrainian culture as an important way to ensure security and humanitarian consolidation of society. The concept of the thesis is based on the understanding of cultural prospects as a dialogical mode of being of society, which includes two sets of relationships: human relationship and society's attitude to nature, both of which may be complementary and tolerant or they may be relations grounded on the principle of utility and feasibility, which gave rise to the instrumentally rational civilization. The thesis founds that today monologism of Ukrainian culture is a result of this paradigm of civilization's development, as well as of historical circumstances, in particular of Ukrainian culture's defensive reflection towards those cultures that defined the imperial essence of the states comprising Ukrainian terrains in the past. It is shown that contemporary Ukrainian culture has a considerable potential of dialogism. The results of this potential will determine the scope and possibilities of overcoming the mental East-West split in Ukraine, the resolution of ethnic and political problems of society and setting communication between generations, consolidation of society around the viable strategies of its development. The work analyzes the main parameters of Ukrainian cultural space, reveals the nature, content and structure of the concept of "dialogic culture", outlines the main directions of state policy intended to form the dialogism of Ukrainian culture. The thesis outlines basic directions of state policy of dialogue formation of Ukrainian culture, defines its nature, purpose, objectives, functions, content and structure
