Essay

Target of research - variability of morphological and biological characteristics and selection of sources of high performance and quality of soft spring wheat. Goal - to establish patterns of variation and inheritance of morphological and biological characteristics, to identify new sources of productivity and grain quality to create soft spring wheat material breeding under Forest-steppe of Ukraine. Methods - field, laboratory and statistical. Results: source of collection samples were identified by the complex of economically valuable traits with high and stable display to be used in breeding programs at the V. M. Remeslo Myronivka Institute of Wheat of NAAS of Ukraine and NSC "Institute of Agriculture of NAAS" to create new varieties. New breeding material of soft spring wheat was included in the selection process of the laboratory of spring wheat breeding of Myronivka Institute of Wheat and NSC "Institute of Agriculture of NAAS". Novelty - the first of collection samples of soft spring wheat of domestic and foreign breeding new sources of valuable traits for their involvement in research and breeding programs were selected. Based on the definition of correlations reasonable possibility of combining in one genotype of high grain quality indicators of not lower valuable wheat and increased productivity was substantiated. The most informative selection index (Bila Tserkva index and index of linear density spike) that allow to increase the efficiency of breeding selections using additional information about the secondary marker signs were found. There were established new patterns of inheritance of indicators of performance and grain quality of hybrid material. A valuable source material and new variety Zlata were developed.
