In this dissertation the theoretical generalization and the new approach to the solution of the problem, which concerns the justification and experimental check of a technique of formation of professional and value orientations of students of natural sciences and mathematics majors in the educational process of the university are made. The nature of concepts "value orientations of the personality", "professional and value orientations of students" is clarified and peculiarities of their formation in students of natural sciences and mathematics majors in the educational process of the university are determined. The functions of these concepts (diagnostic and cognitive, prognostic and motivational, control and evaluative, reflective-regulatory) are identified. The formation of professional and value orientations of students of natural sciences and mathematics majors is defined as a multidimensional, purposeful and controlled process of professional and value becoming of personality, aiming at the transformation of personal and professional values of students into professional value orientations to ensure the effective implementation of their socio-competent and professional value-oriented activity. Certain peculiarities of formation of professional and value orientations of students of natural sciences and mathematics majors of the university are characterized. They lie in the necessity of considering: the specifics of professional training of future specialists; the expediency of creating the educational university environment, favorable for the development of evaluative sphere of the personality; the multifunctional nature of this process and specific characteristic qualities and properties of such social group as students: age peculiarities of juvenility as a stage of personal development of future specialist. In the process of regarding the professional and value orientations as formed personal quality in the process of professional training and the structure of the process of formation of such orientations of students of natural sciences and mathematics majors, the criteria and indicators for the investigation of the real state of their development were determined: cognitive, motivational, activity-based and personal. According to the force of manifestation, frequency and intensity of indicators for each of the defined criteria, the levels of the formation of professional and value orientations of students of natural sciences and mathematics majors have been characterized: low, middle, sufficient and high. The developed model of the formation of professional and value orientations of students of natural sciences and mathematics majors is an integrated system with such components: target (goal, objectives, principles, methodological approaches), informative (a training course "Professional and value orientations of future specialists", the system of axiologically oriented tasks of the research work and practical training), technological (forms and methods, pedagogical conditions of formation of professional and value orientations) and effective (criteria and indicators, levels of formation of professional and value orientations). Pedagogical conditions as constituent parts of the model of formation of professional and value orientations of students of natural sciences and mathematics majors are theoretically grounded and experimentally tested: axiological orientation of the content of educational and research work of students of natural sciences and mathematics majors; their practical training; the use of interactive methods and forms of training, that are aimed at developing of professional and value orientations in students; motivation of students of natural sciences and mathematics majors to the perception of professional values and their transformation into professional and value orientations. The efficiency and the expediency of the implementation of the pedagogical conditions of formation of professional and value orientations of students of natural sciences and mathematics majors in educational process are confirmed by the quantitative-qualitative analysis of the results of the experimental work. The statistical method, criterion ? Kolmogorov-Smirnov, was used for mathematical verification of efficiency of formation of professional and value orientations of students of natural sciences and mathematics majors in the educational process of the university, as well as to test the objectivity of the received results. The results of the pedagogical experiment, their implementation in educational process of higher educational institutions suggest that main aim of the dissertation work was achieved.
