Essay

The social and geographical basis of ethnic festival tourism were revealed. The classification of ethnic festivals was given and their importance in the system of event tourism was clarified. The methodical basis of the social and geographical research of territorial organization of ethnic festival tourism was elaborated. The space and time structure of ethnic festival tourism in Lviv region was analyzed, the influence of seasonal factors on festival movement was established, its dependence upon a historically fixed geographical and space organization of ethnic festival resources and centers of tourism in the region.
